You Don't Have to Carry This Alone

Trauma changes how we see ourselves, other people, and the world. It can show up as flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, or a constant sense of being unsafe — even when the danger is long past. It can also look like anxiety, depression, difficulty trusting people, or feeling disconnected from your own life.

I have a deep passion for walking with people who have experienced trauma — whether it's something that happened in the past or ongoing situations that still feel unsafe or overwhelming. My goal is to create a space of safety, choice, and compassion, where you don't have to minimize what you've been through or pretend you're "fine."

You set the pace. Trauma therapy at Heart & Vine is never forced or rushed. You're always in control of what we explore and how fast we go. Healing is possible — and it doesn't require reliving everything.

Types of Trauma I Work With

💔

Childhood Trauma

Abuse, neglect, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and the long-term effects of growing up in an unsafe or unstable environment.

PTSD & Acute Trauma

Single-incident trauma such as accidents, assault, medical trauma, or sudden loss — and the symptoms that follow.

🔄

Complex / Relational Trauma

Repeated or prolonged trauma, often in relationships — including emotional abuse, domestic violence, and religious trauma.

🧒

Teen Trauma

Trauma experienced during adolescence — including bullying, family instability, abuse, and early adverse experiences.

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

I use a trauma-informed, DBT-based approach that prioritizes safety and stabilization before processing. This means we build your capacity to tolerate difficult emotions and stay grounded before we ever dive into the details of what happened. The goal is to help your nervous system learn that it's safe to heal — not to force you to relive painful memories.

🛡️

Safety First

We establish safety and stability before any trauma processing — building your window of tolerance and grounding skills.

🧠

Nervous System Education

Understanding how trauma affects the brain and body — so your symptoms make sense and you feel less alone in them.

🌱

Strengths & Resilience

Identifying what has helped you survive and building on those strengths — trauma doesn't define you, and healing is possible.

✝️

Faith Integration (Optional)

For clients who want it, exploring how faith, lament, and spiritual community can be part of the healing journey.
